Privacy Policy

• Your chat prompts and replies are processed on your device by Chrome’s built-in Gemini Nano model. We do not operate a chat API that receives those messages.
• We do not create accounts, and we do not store chat history on our servers.
• Ads (Google AdSense) may use cookies and collect standard ad / analytics data according to Google’s policies.

IncogChat (“we”, “us”) provides a web app that talks to the browser’s local language model when available.

When you use private AI messaging, messages are sent to Chrome’s Prompt API (LanguageModel) running in your browser. Inference happens locally after the model is downloaded.

• We do not transmit your prompts or model replies to IncogChat servers — there is no chat backend in this product.
• Conversation context lives in the in-memory browser session for that page. Closing the tab clears it unless your browser or extensions retain something independently.
• Chrome may download Gemini Nano to your device. That download and model storage are managed by Google Chrome, not by IncogChat servers. See Chrome’s Prompt API documentation.

The IncogChat web app itself is a static Next.js front end. We do not intentionally collect chat content. Depending on your host (for example Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare), standard server or CDN logs may include IP address, user agent, URL path, and timestamps for page requests. Those logs are controlled by your hosting provider’s settings and policies — not used by us to rebuild chat transcripts.

To keep IncogChat free, we may show ads via Google AdSense when configured. Ad partners can use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. This can include approximate location, browser type, and browsing activity across sites that use the same ad networks.

• We do not sell your chat messages to advertisers. Ad units load separately from the local model session.
• Google’s use of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use our services.
• You can manage ad personalization via Google Ads Settings and browser controls for cookies / tracking prevention.

When you visit from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use Google’s certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) (via AdSense Privacy & messaging and the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework) to ask for consent before personalized ads. The message offers Consent and Manage options so you can accept all purposes and vendors, or choose specific ones.

• Without the required consent, ads may be limited or non-personalized where Google’s products allow it.
• You can change or withdraw consent later through the CMP controls when they reappear on the site (for example via privacy settings or a consent revocation link).

Essential operation of the chat UI does not require account cookies. Third-party ad scripts may set cookies or use local storage. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, storage used for ads is subject to the consent choices you make in Google’s CMP. Your browser settings also control whether cookies are accepted.

IncogChat is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Because processing for chat happens on your device, the main privacy boundary is local. Hosting and ad partners may process request or ad data in other countries under their own terms.

We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

• Don’t use the chat if you don’t want local model processing.
• In the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, use Google’s CMP dialog (Consent / Manage options) to control ad-related consent.
• Block or limit third-party cookies / ads in your browser.
• Uninstall or disable Chrome’s on-device model features via Chrome settings / flags if you no longer want the model on disk.
